THE PROBLEM
Retail pricing makes shoppers guess.
Specials, member prices and pack-size changes make it hard to know whether today's
price is genuinely low or just the new sticker price.
Tare gives shoppers the missing context: product-level price history and a plain verdict.
HOW IT WORKS
Three checks before a verdict.
01
Collect
We collect published grocery prices and show source and last-updated information where available.
02
Compare
Each product is checked against its available price range, with up to twelve months of history where coverage supports it.
03
Verdict
You see whether to buy now, wait, or ignore the sticker noise.
THE VERDICT
Four labels. No price theatre.
BUY NOW
At or near the low end of its available range, when the history is sufficient.
OK
Typical price. Buy if you need it, no urgency.
WAIT
The special is still above its usual range.
OVERPRICED
The discount signal is weak. Skip unless you need it now.
THE BRIEF
A short daily read on what changed.
Tare turns price movement into plain shopping signals.
Lamb is near the low end of its available history at Coles.
Tim Tams show a repeating half-price pattern in the available history.
Aldi has been cheaper on 8 of your favourites for three weeks.

COVERAGE
Starting with Australia's supermarket shelf.
CColesWWoolworthsAAldiIIGA
Launch coverage focuses on grocery prices from Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and IGA.
Product, retailer and location coverage varies; check the source and last-updated details shown in the app. Other retail categories come later.
FAQ
Common questions.
How is Tare different from Frugl, WiseList, or SmartCart?
Most apps show today's special. Tare checks whether that special is low against the product's own price history.
How much does it cost?
The core app is free during the closed beta. Optional paid features may be added later, but pricing has not been set.
How do I know your prices are accurate?
Price freshness and update timing vary by retailer and product. We show source and last-updated information where available; retailer checkout prices remain authoritative. Send corrections to support@tare.net.au.
Do you sell my shopping data?
No. We do not sell personal data, run ad pixels, or take affiliate commissions.
Where do the verdicts come from?
Per-product math against available price history, with up to twelve months where coverage supports it. The app compares current price against the product's usual range and assigns a plain label. Read the methodology for coverage and evidence limits.
Will there be a hardware / homewares / auto version?
Tare may explore other retail categories in future. No category or release date has been committed.
